How to install / attach and remove our innovative strips of glittery tape-in fairy hair tinsel?

Here is a clear explanation of how to put in hair tinsel and how to remove it.

Also, color photos with clear instructions will be included in your order:

✂
Basic instructions:
Cut any sized piece and stick it on about an inch under the part line.  Fuse on to base of hair with a flat iron or curling iron.

Three methods for longer wear up to 6 weeks:
1- STREAKS:  Cut each tape strip into three smaller pieces.  This should make 24 small pieces.  Fold around small twists of hair in a position that will lie flat, under a light layer of hair to cover the tape. Use hot styling tool to fuse the tape onto the hair and to straighten or curl the tinsel.

2- FULL HEAD:  Sandwich a light layer of hair between a strip of one-sided hair tape and a strip of tape-in tinsel at least an inch under the part. Fuse tapes onto hair with flat iron. (one sided hair type is orderable through funhairshop).

3.  DOUBLE THE RADIENCE:  Use two pieces to sandwich a thin layer of hair hair. (This method will give you tons of tinsel and will need two packages)

If the tinsel is not subtle enough for your tastes, apply lower on your head or clip out the access strands from the tape.

Note:  Keep flat iron under 400 degrees to avoid crinkling.  Smooth with cooler iron, if this happens.

Note:  Keep hair conditioner away from tape adhesion to avoid any oil-base product from causing slipping.  Peel off or use rubbing alcohol to remove, it this happens and reinstall with flat iron.

Swimming, shampoo, heat styling, brushing will not affect them.

We suggest ordering our one-sided tape which you can use for the under side of  the tinsel weft for sandwiching the hair. However, the basic instructions below do not require it.

To reuse, just order two-sided hair tape from FunHairShop

🌟 I hand craft the product, lengths for hair up to 60 inches long.   I can do custom mixed colors (eg. team colors)  for larger orders upon request.

Your questions about hair tinsel answered here: What is hair tinsel?  Bling string, hair dazzle, sparkle strands, hair shimmers and fairy hair are all the same thing - Hair tinsel. Where can you get hair tinsel/fairy hair/glitter hair:  Obviously, right here at our FunHairShop.com site with free shipping and a happiness guarantee.  We also sell on Amazon.  Just look for InstaTinsel.  We are the only company that makes it.  we have a patent on it.  However, you can get all kinds of bags of single strands online from China from other companies. They can be real cheap.  Be careful, once you open the package and pull one out, the rest may tangle up into a rats nest.  Also, be sure to get at least 40 inch long because you will have to fold it in half and double it to tie it or bead it in, unlike ours.  For most DIY clients and professional hairstylists, it just not worth the hassle.  What is our hair tinsel made out of?  It is made of a polymer fiber. Nearly indestructible. It looks quite like mylar.  However, not all hair tinsel is the same. Ours can take heat up to 400 degrees.  Ours will NOT melt onto your hair, even if you go hotter with your flat iron or hold it in the iron for a while.  It will merely crinkle and you should be able to run back over it with a cooler iron to smooth it out again.  How do you put in (install) hair tinsel?  We do not recommend the old fashioned way of literally tying one strand at a time onto single hairs.  Not only is the tiny square knot over a slip knot a challenge to tie while holding up one or two hairs, but the tinsel strand commonly slides off or the hair falls out with the tinsel on it.  If you happen to want the tinsel out before it falls out, you will have to pluck out those hairs to remove them.  If they were tied well, they will stay in and the knot will grow down your hair as your hair grows about a half an inch a month. The only alternative way, besides our tape-in tinsel strips is to bead them in.  You will need a threader and tiny hair extension beads to clamp a few strands onto a few hairs.  Be sure to thread enough hair, so that, if you snag the bead with a brush, you will not rip out your hair.  Use beads that have a silicone band inside to protect the hair from breakage. You will need pliers to unflatten the bead to move the tassel of tinsel up closer to your scalp every couple weeks. We recommend the fastest, easiest way to attach removable, reusable hair tinsel extensions is to use our stick-on InstaTinsel strips (on professional hair extension tape, just like tape-in hair extensions).  Put the strips under a light layer of hair, near the scalp. The sparkling strands subtly peek through the hair, sparkling in the light like metallic hair highlights. You can wash and heat style your hair for weeks with them in. They last up to 6 weeks, yet slide right out when applying common rubbing alcohol or hair healthy oil (coconut, olive, argon...) to the adhesion. Attach 150+ sparkling, dazzling strands in 5 minutes on 8 easy to apply strips under a light layer of hair! Or you can cut just a half inch of one strip to put in a dazzling sparkling streak or two Perfect for special events, festivals, parties, costume, sports fans, school colors, dances, parades, exotic evenings, cheerleading, for entertainers and for every day. Adding brilliant bling strands for a celebrity, glamourous look that gets plenty of attention. Instantly attach or remove hundreds of strands. Waterproof. Heatproof. Reusable. We carry 30 colors - 7 holographic colors, 5 natural metallic hair colors, and plenty of vivid bright neon colors. We even carry neon rainbow which is a blend of 4 bright, vivid neon colors that change ever couple inches on each strand. Still timid? Then try our clip-in hair tinsel strips. Eight clips in a package. Over 15 strands per clip. Use one or put them around the crown of your head for delicate shiny threads shimmering throughout your hair. Only available online. Custom crafted in the USA by a female creator, fabricator and owner at Funhairshop.com   Question:  I was wondering if you do the small streak method, can you use them again? Answer: Yes, you can reuse the full sized (1.5 inch) strips again, even if you sandwiched with one-sided tape.  Just work the pieces apart slowly and carefully as you work the rubbing alcohol, remover or oil into the adhesion.  Soon it will become slick, instead of sticky and you can slide both pieces off your hair. If you are talking about the little pieces that you cut from the strip to use for streaks, it is more tricky.   First, when you remove them, peel the "taco or burrito" fold open a bit to add the rubbing alcohol or olive oil.  Let it work itself in as you peel back a little at a time.  hold the hair to the scalp, so there is no pulling.  Take your time and continue to peel off gently. As it slides out, stick it onto something to save them - the inside of your medicine cabinet, the mirror, the inside of ziplock bag or foil work well.  When you are ready, clean off the sticky side with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry.  Then attach a piece of two sided hair tape (available at funhairshop.com) ad save for next time you want to put them in.
